I told Juliet to use our target to get Nathan to say “don’t want” especially when it comes to food.
We’re having fish for dinner. Nathan pushed it away and Juliet said, “Don’t want?” Nathan replied, “I-DON’T-WANT!” with much conviction. Woohoo. He’s picking up our targets fast! And having leftover bisktek or dinner 😉
Nathan can verbally express his wants but he does not verbalize his “not wants.” Our target this month is to simply model the use of the simple phrase “don’t want” whenever Nathan’s body language indicates that he does not want the things we offer him.
